Maternal Newborn and Postpartum

Registered Nurse - One (1)Part Time A ( 0.6 FTE)
DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS: Labour & Delivery - Women's and Children Health System, Brampton Civic Hospital main site.
HOURS: Currently, 12 hour shifts, Days/Nights with weekend and holiday rotation
(Subject to change in accordance with the operational requirements)
The primary focus of this position will be Labour & Delivery.
The successful applicant will have the knowledge base to assist in postpartum and high-risk ante-partum combined care when required. To provide patient care in a family-centred setting working collaboratively within a inter-disciplinary team.
You will provide family-centered nursing care to the patient along the continuum of care. You will assess the nursing needs and provide care to support the patient and families throughout the birthing experience for the normal, medium and high-risk patient. You will develop and implement a nursing plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary health care team. You will maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through continued education and lifelong learning.
" Current RN registration with College of Nurses of Ontario
" BSCN or evidence of working towards an asset
" Minimum of 2 years recent Obstetrics and/or Labour & Delivery experience required
" Fetal Monitoring Certificate and/or advanced knowledge and experience (SOGC)
" NRP Certificate Required
" Obstetrics Nursing Certificate required or enrolment within first year
" Demonstrated ability to utilize your critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork abilities
" Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
" May be required to travel between and work at all hospital campuses
" Experience/knowledge of providing care to the high-risk antenatal patient essential
" Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
" Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
" May be required to work at all hospitals of William Osler
