Technical Specialist - One (1) Full Time
Flow Cytometry - Brampton Civic Hospital
POSTING NUMBER: 131390
Currently, Days Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts
(Subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
" Medical Laboratory Technologist with CSMLS certification
" Current registration with CMLTO and in good standing
" Minimum 2 years Flow Cytometry experience preferred
" ART, or related degree, or equivalent combination of continuing education and working experience related to Flow Cytometry
" Minimum of six (6) years relevant laboratory experience approved by the Director of Laboratory and Specimen Collection Centre Licensing or;
" Has successfully completed relevant courses that together with experience are acceptable to the Director of Laboratory and Specimen Collection Centre Licensing as equivalent to the above experience
" Supervisory and/or leadership experience is preferred
" Demonstrated commitment to professional development for self and other staff
" Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
" Demonstrated project and change management, troubleshooting, problem solving and decision making skills
" Proven ability to work in a team environment
" Proficient computer skills
" Excellent attendance, punctuality and work ethic
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Coordinates and supervises the activities of staff; monitors and reallocates resources to meet performance expectations and operational needs
" Performs and monitors all technical functions, operation and maintenance protocols, quality assurance and quality control proficiencies, purchasing and inventory management processes
" Maintains strong working knowledge of current technical methodologies, performance standards and evidence-based practice
" Maintains strong theoretical knowledge of related laboratory discipline to provide consultative services within scope of practice.
" Manages workload effectively and efficiently, working with team members to identify and solve problems, meet deadlines and set priorities
" Ensure the department meets the requirements of the Laboratory Quality Management System
" Develops and maintains departmental policies, processes and procedures in accordance with established regulatory and accreditation standards
