POSITION:
Full Time Patient Care Manager, Critical Care - Etobicoke General Hospital Site

POSTING NUMBER: 131308

POSITION RELATIONSHIP:
" Reports to the Director, Emergency and Critical Care Services
" Collaborates with the Program Medical Director/site Chief of Service

QUALIFICATIONS:
" Health Discipline Professional designation
" Baccalaureate Degree required
" Completion of, or current enrollment in, a related Master's level degree preferred
" Five (5) years related clinical experience in Critical Care
" Minimum of two to five years management/leadership experience involving multidisciplinary teams, preferably in Critical Care
" Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships including effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and external regional partners
" Demonstrated effective leadership, planning and project management skills
" Proven excellent problem solving and change management skills
" Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
" Proven ability to establish positive relationships
" Highly motivated team player
" Established reputation as a consultative, collaborative, coaching and mentoring style of leadership
" Evidence of collaboration across disciplines/divisions/departments/programs
" Ability to travel between campuses

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES/ONGOING ACCOUNTABILITIES:
" In consultation/collaboration with the Director, physician partners and team members will develop and implement the clinical service, functional and strategic plan for the departments.
" In consultation/collaboration with the Director defines the organizational supports and structures required for the areas
" Establish a professional practice climate and facilitates a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care in the departments
" Ensures that patient care is provided according to professional practice and corporate standards
" Hires, orients and manages staff performance as determined by human resource policies, union contracts, legislation and standards of practice
" Develops, monitors, controls and evaluates the budget in collaboration with administrative directors, physicians, health care professionals and staff in a team-oriented culture
" Develops processes for selecting, evaluating and maintaining material/equipment needed for enhancing patient care
" Develops and maintains effective interdepartmental relationships and participates in activities which contribute to the effective function of the unit/units, the program, and the corporation
" Participates in regular on-call rotation
