University Undergraduate Degree
Recreation Therapist - One (1) Full-Time
Child & Adolescent Mental Health - Brampton Civic Hospital
HOURS: Days, evenings, some 12 hour and weekend shifts
(Subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
" Graduate of an approved Program in Recreation and Leisure Studies, with a Therapeutic Option
" Current registered member with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
" Minimum of 2-3 years current experience working with children's mental health
" Knowledge of Major Disorders of Childhood
" Demonstrated knowledge of issues related to mental illness
" Experience in developing and conducting group programs
" Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
" Familiarity with community resources and demonstrated ability to work well with community partners
" Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
" Computer proficiency
" Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record
" Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
Reports to the Professional Leader, Recreation Therapy, and the Manager, Children's Mental Health, you will provide
Recreation Therapy services including assessments, group activities, and community integration to all age groups in two
