The Corporate Strategy Development Office (SDO), reporting to the VP Public Affairs and Corporate Strategy, helps to shape and communicate Osler's corporate strategies to ensure alignment across the organization. The SDO played a key role in facilitating the creation of Osler's new Strategic Plan, which was publicly launched in June 2013.
The SDO is currently recruiting Business Analysts to primarily support the implementation of the exciting new provincial Health Links initiative.
The five Health Links of the Central West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) are taking a collaborative approach to implementation, with the creation of a Secretariat to enable a coordinated approach across the LHIN. Housed at Osler, the Secretariat will support all five Health Links Leads through the first year of implementation. The Secretariat is accountable to the Central West LHIN Health Links Steering Committee, chaired by the CEO of the Central West LHIN (www.centralwestlhin.on.ca). The Steering Committee is comprised of local health, community and social support service providers, including the Health Link lead agencies: Central West Community Care Access Centre (www.cw.ccac-ont.ca), Headwaters Healthcare Centre (www.headwatershealth.ca), and Osler (www.williamoslerhs.ca).
o Contribute to the development and execution of new strategies, approaches and plans supporting Health Links implementation and other corporate strategic initiatives
o Support specific aspects of projects and ensure the completion of project tasks
o Coordinate project activities, liaising with individuals within Osler and across multiple organizations
o Identify and anticipate the needs of stakeholders, building relationships with partners (e.g., Health Link Leads, lead agencies and collaborating organizations)
o Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions and meetings with various internal and external stakeholders (Health Link Leads, clinicians, managers, directors, decision support staff, etc.)
o Conduct secondary research and link with external partners and experts to obtain information and tools to support project activities
o Participate in the creation and delivery of innovative presentations, briefing notes and planning documents to support project activities
o Engage with members of local Decision Support teams to obtain and analyze activity and performance data/information to inform strategic decision making
o Identify risks and issues, generating and implementing solutions for mitigation
o Undergraduate degree in business, policy or a health-related field
o Minimum two years experience in a healthcare environment
o Experience with project management, and demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks and keep stakeholders effectively involved in the process, to meet milestones and deadlines
o Demonstrated customer service orientation with exceptional relationship building abilities
o Understanding of Ontario health system structures and major organizations at provincial, regional and local levels and knowledge of health policy concepts and theory
o Secondary research skills (using academic and grey literature sources)
o Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
o Strong writing skills for both executive and public audiences
o Ability to analyze and interpret healthcare performance data/information
o Excellent time management and work prioritization skills
o Ability to work productively and proactively, both autonomously and as a team member
o Proficient in a variety of software applications including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Travel Requirements: Occasional local travel required across the Central West LHIN
