OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT
Occupational Therapist Assistant - One (1) Full Time
Outpatient Occupational Therapy - Brampton Civic Hospital

Currently, Monday to Friday Days
(Subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
" Dual trained with an Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant diploma from an accredited academic institution
" Knowledge of and experience working with hand and upper extremity diagnoses and the OT interventions required
" Familiarity with wound care management required
" Experience in adult neuro rehabilitation an asset
" Splinting and sewing experience required.
" Ability to speak read & write the English language
" Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, with both the public and interdisciplinary team members
" Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills required
" Demonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities and tasks
" Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
" Physical ability to do job duties as assigned; demonstrated knowledge of body mechanics to prevent musculoskeletal injuries
" Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record
" May be required to travel and work at all hospital campuses
Working within a program management model, reporting to the Patient Care Manager and Professional Leader for Occupational Therapy, and under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, the successful candidate will provide quality occupational therapy services within the framework of client-centred care to enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes by working independently and as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The candidate will be responsible for:
" The provision of direct and indirect patient care including instruction of staff and patients on the use of equipment
" Set up, preparation, and maintenance of equipment; supervision of patients during treatment
" Assisting with splinting and splint modification
" Ordering supplies; compiling statistics and performing other related duties as assigned
" Participate in meetings, committees and quality initiatives within the program and OT team as needed
Minimum: $26.10 per hour
Maximum: $28.25 per hour
