Corporate Manager-Quality Improvement & Security, Support Services
DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS: Brampton Civic Hospital

JOB SUMMARY: This position is to provide an additional level of performance monitoring above the service department of key performance indicators for Osler Support Services. The position will provide auditing and will provide monthly reports to each respective site and the Director of Support Services, included with the monthly report will be observations and recommendations.

Accountabilities: The position will be the primary point of contact for all Corporate Security issues and Parking In addition, the position will take the lead for the Support Services program in the absence of the Director of Support Services.

" Responsible for auditing ServiceCo (BCH support services and EGH Patient Food and Materiel Management) contract responsibilities

" Auditing of the Etobicoke General Hospital's Housekeeping, Portering, Linen Services and Security Services program aligning to the same standards as those for Service Co (Project Agreement- Schedule 8)

" Responsible for the corporate management support and oversight for Security and Parking. Responsible for assessing security based "Notifiable Incidents". Responsible for standardization and measurement of Security Policies & Procedures.

" Will lead all actions related to corporate based security issues - Notifiable Incidents, code actualization & escalation. Actions will include oversight of security actions during incidents/code, follow-up as required and analysis & report generation as required

" Conduct monthly Patient interview surveys (excluding Mental Health, Critical Care, Paeds, and Palliative Care units) all sites.

" Conduct various food safety and housekeeping audits as per Audit Schedules section.

" Primary contact for departmental and clinical managers at BCH for Support Services operational issues. Will have a responsibility to meet with departmental and clinical managers on a regular basis to gather feedback for both sites

" Corporate first point of contact for Infection Control and Prevention.

" Provide monthly reports to each respective site and the Director of Support Services, included with the monthly report will be observations and recommendations.

" Work with respective sites on the development of action plans related to recommendations from monthly reports. Conduct follow-up review of status of previous month's action plans.

" Conduct resource analysis -example linen utilization

" Support review and documentation of PCIS Risk Management reports.

" Support to Osler Accessibility initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: University degree

Experience:
" Minimum of 5 years recent experience in management/supervision in Health Care Support Services and Security Services departments
" Knowledge and understanding of all relevant standard security protocols/legislation ie. Criminal Code of Canada; Use of Force; Non Violent Crisis Intervention; Powers of Arrest etc.
" Strong interpersonal, communication and assessment skills
" Proven ability to develop and conduct staff training sessions

Additional Skills/Abilities:
" Total Quality Management skills, organizational development
" Computer proficiency and literacy in Microsoft
" Certified in housekeeping cleanliness auditing
